On Monday, March 9, 2020, the TV channel (WAAR) hosted the Dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Zakho, Dr. Nawfal Rashid in a television interview to talk about the Coronavirus, its dangers and ways to prevent it.
The doctor started his speech by mentioning what this virus is and he said that Coronavirus is a group of viruses and was not known before, and thus it differs from the other known viruses.
Speaking of the symptoms of the person with the virus, he indicated that the manifestations of the effect of this virus vary with different people, as the symptoms may appear severe or mild, depending on the body of the infected person and the ability of his immune system to tolerate the virus. One of its risks is that its symptoms are not easily recognizable over time, especially since they are very similar to the symptoms of regular flu.
He talked about the ways of transmission of the virus from one person to another, and also highlighted a group of viruses that passed on mankind in the eras of previous history. He concluded his speech by offering a set of tips and instructions to limit the spread of the virus, including staying away from crowded places and avoiding mixing as much as possible, and the demand for examinations in the event of return from one of the affected countries, in addition to adhering to the preventive instructions published by
health institutions and organizations, respectively.
